Weekly Update 3/23/18

This week we met and figured out our plan and goals for the rest of the semester. The most pressing goal is to have our prototype done by March 30. This way Zach can take it to his family on Easter to test the device on his elderly family. This will get some testing out of the way. Then the rest of April will be used to do the mechanical load testing’s mentioned in our paper as well as complete the Design Safe aspect of the project.

Along with the plan we built and put together more of our prototype. We bought a second pillow/bladder to lift the user higher. This second pillow, although is supposed to be the same exact as before, is not. The inflation hole is smaller and the pillow it safe may even be smaller. Therefore we need to go back to the store to get the correct size valve and also buy a few more connection pieces. Assuming this gets done, we will have a prototype complete by Easter weekend.
